18-year-old arrested in connection with woman’s death in Sherbrooke
A young girl was also injured in the incident, which happened in a Sherbrooke home
A 41-year-old has died in Sherbrooke, Que., following a fight that broke out at a residence Thursday evening.
Police responded to a home on Laiterie Street around 9 p.m. after receiving a call from a neighbour.
"Upon arrival, police discovered a woman with serious injuries inside the residence and arrested an 18-year-old man," Sherbrooke police spokesperson Benoit Pellerin told Radio-Canada.
"Paramedics were called to the scene. The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was quickly transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead."
A young girl was also found injured in the home. She was taken to hospital, but her injuries are not life-threatening.
An investigation is underway, and charges against the 18-year-old are expected to be laid today.
