AMAN, Bokra & Erada Join Egypt Venture Debt Programme

The three financial institutions will explore venture debt products for high-growth businesses under GIZ Egypt and enpact’s Scale It Forward programme.

AMAN Holding, Bokra and Erada Finance have joined Scale It Forward, a new programme designed to introduce venture debt to Egypt’s startup and scaleup financing market.

The three institutions signed framework agreements with enpact at a launch event in Cairo, becoming the programme’s first financial institution partners and committing to explore and pilot venture debt products for high-growth businesses.

Co-developed by GIZ Egypt and enpact, Scale It Forward is intended to expand access to non-dilutive financing for scaleups that need growth capital without giving up additional equity.

Under the pilot, GIZ Egypt will provide participating financial institutions with technical assistance to support the design and deployment of venture debt products, alongside access to a pipeline of selected scaleups.

The institutions will identify businesses from that pipeline for potential financing, while participating scaleups will receive tailored support to prepare for venture debt.

Financing will begin from the equivalent of €5,000 per business, matched by €5,000 in non-repayable financial support provided through the programme.

Scale It Forward is implemented by GIZ Egypt and enpact under Invest for Jobs, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Special Initiative ‘Decent Work for a Just Transition’.
