Animate, Ancestral and Artificial Intelligence to be explored at The Lyceum Project 2026

The Lyceum Project is gearing up for its third edition as it returns to the Athens Conservatoire, with this year’s event exploring the interplay between three forms of intelligence: Animate Intelligence, Ancestral Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence.

The event will take place from 19-20 June and will feature three separate sessions surrounding its theme ‘Entangled Intelligence: Animate. Ancestral. Artificial’, with it re-examining the relationship between nature, humanity, and technology.

The three forms of intelligence will be explored via numerous speakers as it addresses the key question: How might Artificial Intelligence entangle with Ancestral and Animate Intelligence to assist in the creation of a life-affirming civilisation?

The program brings together people from around the world and from diverse fields of knowledge in a creative dialogue centred on the major challenges of our time and our shared future.

The event will be introduced by Greece’s Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who will deliver the opening address.

A greeting will also be delivered by the Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Dimitris Papastergiou.

The event will be held in English, with simultaneous interpretation into Greek.

In addition to the three sessions mentioned, a Young Scholars’ session will also be held in affiliation with the Centre for Hellenic Studies in Greece, Harvard University.

The event will conclude with an evening experience at Aristotle’s Lyceum and the Paradise Garden of the Byzantine Museum, featuring a feast guided by musicians Nikos Xanthoulis and Sokratis Sinopoulos alongside students of the Athens Conservatoire and the Music School of Athens.
