Anthropic IPO timetable shifts towards mid-October, sources say

Anthropic is now expected to begin marketing its initial public offering in mid-October at the earliest, delaying a closely watched listing that could become one of the largest stock-market debuts on record.

People familiar with the plans told Reuters that the artificial intelligence company had previously been expected to release its IPO prospectus as early as September. That filing is now expected towards the end of the month.

The revised timetable could allow Anthropic to complete its flotation shortly before the US midterm elections in November.

Some investors have said the listing could value the company at as much as $2 trillion, although the eventual valuation will depend on market conditions and investor demand.

Anthropic is also seeking to finalise a revolving credit facility of about $15 billion as it prepares for the offering.

IPO schedules frequently change because of regulatory reviews, financing arrangements, and market conditions, and sources cautioned that Anthropic’s timetable could shift again. The company declined to comment to Reuters.
