Belgium ease past USA at 2026 World Cup | News | Official Site
Mike Penders was once again an unused substitute as Belgium comfortably defeated USA in their World Cup Round of 16 tie.
It finished 4-1 in Seattle with Belgium dominating from the off. They went ahead through Charles de Ketelaere, and though Malik Tillman’s free-kick deflected past Thibaut Courtois to bring the co-hosts level, parity did not last long. De Ketelaere scored again from close-range within two minutes.
Belgium went 3-1 up shortly before the hour when Hans Vanaken capitalised on a goalkeeping error, and substitute Romelu Lukaku rounded off the scoring in stoppage time with an assured finish.
The Red Devils progress to the last eight where they will take on Spain in Los Angeles on Friday.
