Blast off: Canada Rocket Company breaks ground on advanced testing facility in London
LONDON, ONT. – The Canada Rocket Company (CRC) has announced the establishment of the Jeremy Hansen Rocket Test Facility at London International Airport.
According to a release, the $30 million investment will create at least 40 new jobs over the next 18 months and establish infrastructure to test and validate rocket technologies designed and developed in Ontario.
Eventually the facility is expected to support a broader vehicle development program projected to generate approximately 1,000 jobs and attract more than $1 billion in additional investment over the next decade.
The 12,000-square-foot testing facility will enable the Toronto-based company to validate critical rocket systems, driving further advances in design, safety and performance.
CRC is developing a reusable medium-lift launch vehicle, with dedicated testing infrastructure that will help accelerate technology development and operational readiness.
Invest Ontario supported the expansion through site selection assistance, permitting support, introductions to strategic partners and connections with local stakeholders and post-secondary institutions in collaboration with the London Economic Development Corporation, helping lay the groundwork for future growth in the region.
