Body found in river near Canmore, RCMP investigating

Man identified as 52-year-old Canmore resident

Canmore RCMP is investigating after a body was found in the Bow River Sunday morning.

EHS says the body was found in a section of the Bow River east of Canmore by a rafter, who called emergency services at about 9:40 a.m.

After paramedic and Canmore Fire confirmed the person was dead, RCMP was notified.

RCMP identified the man as a 52-year-old Canmore resident.

The circumstances around his death remain under investigation.
