More than 90 Camosun College students will showcase their final projects on Friday, Aug. 14, as part of the Technology Capstone Showcase 2026.
Students from three technology programs will present their projects to potential employers, faculty, students and community members.
Mechanical Engineering Technology students will present their projects from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Centre for Trades Education and Innovation on Camosun’s Interurban campus (4481 Interurban Rd.). Interactive Media Developer and Information and Computer Systems students will present from 1 to 5 p.m. at Sherri Bell Hall on the Lansdowne campus (3100 Foul Bay Rd.).
The 33 graduating mechanical engineering students are presenting projects focused on practical solutions for industry and community partners.
Projects include a renewable energy system designed to generate electricity from water flow while under sail, a system that converts captured carbon dioxide into sidewalk chalk, automated equipment to remove debris from seedling trays and a self-cleaning lake water intake system.
Meanwhile, 57 graduating students from the media and computer programs are showcasing digital projects for the industry, education and entertainment sectors.
Their projects include custom software applications, original games, augmented reality experiences, business solutions, training simulations and other interactive media developed by student teams.
“This year’s graduating cohorts have excelled at transforming creative ideas into polished technical solutions,” said instructor Benjamin Leather. “These graduates are a tremendous asset to the tech industry.”
More information about the student teams and projects is available through Camosun College’s capstone showcase website at capstone.camosun.bc.ca/cosc.
