Can BWX Technologies' Nuclear Manufacturing Expansion Support Growth?
BWX Technologies, Inc. BWXT is increasing its manufacturing and technology capabilities to support opportunities across advanced nuclear, commercial nuclear and government programs. The company is investing in facilities, advanced manufacturing and research and development to strengthen its ability to develop and produce next-generation nuclear technologies.
A key focus is the expansion of its manufacturing footprint. BWXT has expanded its Cambridge, Ontario, facility to increase heavy commercial nuclear component manufacturing capacity. The company is also developing capabilities for high-purity depleted uranium and has invested in facilities supporting uranium processing and advanced manufacturing. These investments can provide additional capacity as demand for nuclear technologies develops.
BWXT is also strengthening its advanced nuclear technology platform. Its Innovation Campus in Lynchburg, VA, brings together design, research, engineering, testing and fabrication capabilities for advanced nuclear technologies. The company’s R&D activities include advanced reactors, nuclear fuel, additive and autonomous manufacturing, medical radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals, providing multiple avenues for future technology development.
BWX Technologies’ broader investment strategy includes developing and commercializing new technologies while expanding existing capabilities. BWXT operates across government and commercial nuclear markets, and its 2025 revenues increased 18.3% to $3.2 billion. Continued investment in manufacturing capacity, advanced technologies and engineering capabilities could help the company pursue additional opportunities across its nuclear businesses.
Companies Expanding Nuclear Capabilities

Fluor provides engineering and project-management services for nuclear-related government projects, supported by its technical expertise and experience in complex programs.
Cameco competes in nuclear capabilities, including nuclear fuel, heavy nuclear components, engineering and maintenance services, giving it exposure across several areas of the nuclear industry.
