Canada invites 3,500 tradespeople to apply for permanent residence
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 3,500 tradespeople to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry.

For candidates with a CRS score of 476, they had to have created their profile on or before May 28, 2026 at 16:55:23 UTC.
Foreign nationals who are in Canada and have applied for permanent residence through Express Entry may be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).
If the work permit they currently hold expires before a decision is issued on the BOWP, maintained status can preserve their work authorization under the same conditions, provided they continue to reside in Canada.
Qualifying family members can also apply for an open work permit.
Following the completion of this round, Canada has held 59 Express Entry draws over the course of 2026.
This year’s Express Entry selection activity has continued to centre heavily on candidates with ties to Canada, particularly provincial nominees and those with Canadian work experience.
Over the course of 2026, IRCC has issued 135,215 ITAs through the following Express Entry draw types:
