Canada invites 733 provincial nominees to apply for permanent residence

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued more invitations to apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system.

The immigration department issued 733 ITAs in a draw for Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination.

A foreign national in Canada who has applied for permanent residence through Express Entry may qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).

If their existing work permit expires before the BOWP application is finalized, they can benefit from maintained status and continue working under the same conditions listed under their existing permit, provided they remain in Canada.

Their family members may also be eligible for a BOWP.

This draw marked the largest invitation round for provincial nominees since late June 2026.

The completion of this round brings Canada’s year-to-date Express Entry draw total to 57.

Candidates with ties to Canada have continued to feature prominently in Express Entry selections in 2026, particularly provincial nominees and those with Canadian work experience.
