Canadian Country Music Awards take over SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon

Several Sask. musicians nominated or set to perform

Canada's best country stars have gathered in Saskatoon for the Canadian Country Music Awards, kicking off at the SaskTel Centre this weekend.

Hopeful winners and performers are walking the red carpet, getting ready for the culmination of Saskatoon's Country Music Week.

Among the nominations Saskatchewan brings Jess Moskaluke, originally from Langenburg, who is up for both Female Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for her single, I Ain't Country.

Artists say country is cool again as CCMAs kick off in Saskatoon

Prince Albert's 23-year-old Josh Stumpf is nominated for Fans' Choice and Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and Saskatoon's Bart McKay is up for Record Producer of the Year.

Even more representation will hit the stage with performances from the Hunter Brothers, Kalsey Kulyk, and Tenille Arts.

Referred to as Canada’s biggest night in country music, this awards show marks the first return of the CCMAs to Saskatoon in nine years.
