Carney welcomes news of Iran peace deal
Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada welcomes news of a peace deal between the United States and Iran. Speaking from the airport in Knock, Ireland ahead of his flight to France for the G7 summit, Carney says the leaders at the meetings in Évian will discuss what they can do to support the peace process. But Carney says the conflict is a reminder that countries like Canada must do more to make their energy and other supply chains more resilient. (June 15, 2026)
