Carney welcomes Vietnamese president to Canada

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Canada and Vietnam 'will strike agreements on a number of areas' including energy, agriculture and defence co-operation. 'There will be good news for people who want to travel directly from Canada to Vietnam,' Carney said when welcoming Vietnamese leader Tô Lâm — who serves both as the president and the first general secretary of Vietnam's Communist Party.
