This Canada Day people can check out a baseball game and watch fireworks light the skies above Nanaimo.
Nanaimo NightOwls face Victoria HarbourCats (Thundercats) at Serauxmen Stadium in a Canada Day game beginning at 6:35 p.m., followed by a permitted fireworks show.
The game is part of the nine annual matches between the two West Coast League rivals that begins on Wednesday, June 24. Historically, Victoria has come out victorious, which means the pressure will be on the NightOwls to come out on top for the holiday game at the home stadium in front of their cheering fans.
Following the game, spectators will be treated to a spectacular fireworks show at the stadium.
Within the city, a permit is required for the discharge of any fireworks — which makes Serauxmen Stadium the ideal place to watch fireworks for the night, without the risk of a fine from illegal firework discharges or the chance to accidently start a fire.
Tickets can be purchased online at https://nanaimonightowls.com.
