City of Mississauga announces Director of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer
Ryan Lim will oversee six key areas of operations that focus on the innovation, development, maintenance and security of the City’s IT business applications, services and infrastructure.

Following a competitive recruitment process, the City of Mississauga has appointed Ryan Lim as the Director of Information Technology (IT) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) effective August 18, 2025.
In this role, Lim reports to the Commissioner of Corporate Services, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, and will oversee six key areas of operations that focus on the innovation, development, maintenance and security of the City’s IT business applications, services and infrastructure.
With more than two decades of service at the City, Lim has most recently served as the interim Director of IT and CIO leading the development of a comprehensive four-year IT strategy, spearheading the City’s migration to cloud-based infrastructure, advancing cybersecurity measures, including leading AI and data policies, and initiatives. Prior to that, Lim held several progressive leadership roles within the City’s IT section with oversight of the City’s IT Desktop and Support Services, Architecture and Innovation, Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture.
Lim holds a holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and a Computer Science degree from Sheridan College.
