CoComelon: The Movie unveils first trailer

The first trailer for CoComelon: The Movie has been unveiled, with director Kat Good telling RTÉ Entertainment that "these are songs that are going to get stuck inside people's heads".

The big-screen spin-off of the children's small-screen favourite is billed as "a story about finding your courage, discovering your voice, and learning that every new journey is better with friends by your side".

SZA, Nicholas Hoult, Ike Barinholtz, Connor Esterson, Sarah Sherman, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matthew Friend, Rhys Darby, and Cristo Fernández lead the voice cast.

Watch: Director Kat Good discusses the music of CoComelon: The Movie

"JJ and his friends are actually moving on; they're going into kindergarten, which brings on some anxieties of its own for JJ," director Good told RTÉ Entertainment.

"On the first day of kindergarten, he takes his beloved stuffy bear Boba with him to school - and inadvertently ends up losing him!

"And so, he has to go on a journey with his best friends Cody, CeCe, and Nina into a magical realm of The Lost and Found in order to get his bear back."

With Good describing music as a "fundamental" part of the CoComelon phenomenon, she said the film will have "10 new songs with this contemporary sound that just are earwormy".

"These are songs that are going to get stuck inside people's heads, and I just can't wait for people to hear them.

"Like, everybody always asks me what's my favourite one, and I can't pick!"

"We're really hoping that with this brand-new cinematic experience, people will really see CoComelon in a brand-new way as it evolves into its next stage of growing up with JJ and his friends," the director added.

CoComelon: The Movie opens in cinemas on 12 February, 2027.
