Consultation on 4,000

A public consultation on a proposed 4,000-home development in Leicestershire is set to open next week.

It comes after Urban & Civic Homes England unveiled a bid earlier this year, to build on 931 acres (377 hectares) on farmland south of Gartree Road in Great Stretton.

Residents can go to Great Glen Village Hall between 17:30 and 20:30 BST on Wednesday and Parklands Leisure Centre, on Wigston Road, from 13:00 and 19:00 to make their views known.

Information will also be available to view online from Monday, with people able to register their views with developers until 30 July.

Planning documents lodged by the firm with Harborough District Council indicate the homes will be built between 2028 and 2045 if the application is approved.

Specialist accommodation for older people, three primary schools and a secondary school are also included in the plans.
