CSIO appoints Beneva technology executive Eric Marcoux to board
The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Eric Marcoux (pictured), vice-president of IT, Property and Casualty Insurance and Corporate Services at Beneva.
The appointment was announced by CSIO Board Chair Michael Lin, who serves as senior vice-president and chief information & technology officer at Wawanesa Insurance. The addition comes as Canada’s property and casualty (P&C) sector continues to push for greater digital integration and automated workflows between carriers and independent brokers.
Marcoux brings over a quarter-century of executive experience guiding enterprise technology initiatives, operational modernizations, and digital business transformations. Alongside his executive role at Beneva—one of Canada’s largest multi-line mutual insurers—he serves on various industry committees and professional boards, including the IT advocacy group Réseau Action TI.
Lin highlighted that Marcoux’s background in technology leadership and strategic transformation will help drive CSIO’s agenda to foster innovation across the national insurance landscape.
Strengthening Broker-Carrier Data Connectivity
CSIO operates as Canada’s standards organization for the P&C industry, developing data standards, eDocs solutions, and digital workflow tools designed to streamline interactions between insurers and the broker distribution channel.
The addition of a senior technology leader from Beneva reinforces carrier alignment as the organization continues building out real-time data exchange capabilities and API standards across provincial markets.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Marcoux noted that joining the board offers a strategic platform to help accelerate digital connectivity standards across the Canadian P&C market. He emphasized his commitment to collaborating with fellow board members to enhance broker workflows, foster industry-wide cooperation, and deliver tangible value for policyholders nationwide.
