Daya Raises USD 2.4 M Pre
African stablecoin payments startup Daya has raised USD 2.4 M in a pre-seed funding round led by Hivemind Capital, with participation from Lattice, Alliance, Globelink, and Aptos Foundation.
Founded in 2025 by Aleph Lasebikan and Paul Joe, former operators at Microsoft, Circle, and YC-backed Helicarrier, Daya is building a financial operating layer that helps African businesses manage cross-border payments more efficiently.
The platform enables users to collect funds in local currencies, convert them intelligently using stablecoin rails, and settle globally.
Daya is targeting businesses, freelancers, and companies that regularly make international payments or pay suppliers across borders. The new funding will support the development of infrastructure aimed at reducing the cost, complexity, and friction of moving money across African and global markets.
