Domestic chemical
DHAKA, July 20, 2026 (BSS) - LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the existing mosquito control technologies have not been very effective, but the technology developed using domestic chemicals may be promising.
A joint programme between the city corporations and innovators would be successful in mosquito control if the newly developed technology could be used on a trial basis, said the Minister.
Mirza Fakhrul, also BNP Secretary General, made the remarks after joining a programme virtually on mosquito control technology organised by 'Youth to World' at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital's Ramna this afternoon.
Fakhrul, however, stressed that destroying mosquito larvae is the primary task during the current season of dengue and chikungunya transmission.
