Elantxobe: Workshops on Memory, Territory, and Artificial Intelligence

Organized by the Gu Kostaldea Herrigintzan platform, two days of creative meetings will take place in Elantxobe. These workshops will foster reflection on participation, memory, territory, and collaboration in digital narratives, supported by the Moviltik-Loturak association.The first workshop, on September 14th (Monday), will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gregorio Renteria Cultural Center. Aimed at citizens, associations, and local stakeholders, it will explore how artificial intelligence can serve territorial knowledge, culture, and the future. Experiences will be shared, and challenges will be gathered to serve as a basis for the following day's session.The second session, on September 19th (Saturday), will be an intensive creation laboratory, a Hackathon, running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Here, alongside specialists in artificial intelligence, programming, and design, they will develop the first prototype of the "Story Creation Machine." The goal is to create new ways to research, interpret, and share the history and future of Urdaibai, building a new infrastructure that connects the territory's dispersed knowledge.Platform members have emphasized that the "Story Creation Machine" is not just a technological tool but a work protocol designed to make the possibilities of artificial intelligence accessible to individuals with limited technical knowledge. It offers tools, materials, and work phases for research, information correlation, memory recovery, and collaborative project development.The Gu Kostaldea Herrigintzan platform was founded by residents of Gautegiz Arteaga, Elantxobe, Ereño, and Ibarrangelu to analyze the territory's main challenges and identify strategies for building a more sustainable future. Issues such as population aging, housing accessibility difficulties, and daily work commutes are among these challenges.Through these meetings, they aim to promote collaboration among stakeholders and transform existing knowledge into shared projects. Starting from culture, participation, and technological experimentation, they will examine how artificial intelligence can serve the territory, strengthening research, cultural creation, collective intelligence, and the "shared construction" of futures.
