Fire breaks out on town's ancient meadows
Firefighters from four stations in are tackling a fire in a green space near Matlock town centre.
Crews from Alfreton, Crich, Matlock and Wirksworth were called to Denefields at about 16:35 BST on Sunday after a resident called 999.
The fire service said anyone who can smell smoke issuing from the ancient meadows should keep their windows closed.
A spokesperson said: "Please avoid the area to allow emergency services to deal with the incident."
