Flood watch in place after heavy rainfall in Windsor-Essex
ERCA says it will be in place until at least 10 a.m. Monday
All of the recent rainfall has resulted in a flood watch being put into effect in Windsor-Essex.
The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) issued the advisory just after 9 p.m. Sunday after it says more than 30 millimetres was recorded in spots in a 12-hour span.
At that time, it said as much as an additional 50 millimetres was possible before all was said and done.

The advisory will remain in effect until at least 10 a.m. Monday
“Based on the recorded rainfall, smaller watercourses would be flowing near or at capacity,” ERCA said in a statement. “Additional rain could cause some to spill their banks into adjacent low-lying areas.”

According to the authority, people should take extra caution and avoid areas where flooding is occurring as well as rivers, streams and shoreline areas during significant rainfall and wind events.
