In a joint statement, Adams Community Bank and Pittsfield Cooperative Bank announced Wednesday the name of their combined institution will be Trailmark Bank, pending approval from regulators.

While Quail already owns a landscaping business, Bates' dream had long been to open her own garden center after years of working in fine gardening.

Local caterer and restaurateur Gordy Hebler will open The Grand, a new seafood restaurant and piano lounge on North Street sometime in August. An exact opening date has not yet been set.
