Good news, reality TV fans: Summer House is coming to Canada
Summer House, a reality television series that has followed a group of nine friends who share a summer house in the Hamptons since 2017, has been captivating us since March thanks to a messy love triangle involving cast members Amanda Batula, West Wilson and Ciara Miller. (For anyone who’s wondering, we’re Team Ciara all the way.)
Now, the drama is coming closer to home. Canada is getting a Summer House spin-off, and it promises all of the emotional bedlam (and surprisingly sweet moments) that arise when a group of chaotic fame-hungry 20-somethings spend a summer living—and loving—together. And it’ll take place in one of the country’s most iconic summer destinations: Muskoka.
The series is currently in production with Vancouver-based company Lark Productions, and we imagine that cast members are jumping into Lake Rosseau and hobnobbing at the Muskoka Motor Rally as we speak. We don’t yet know how many people are headed up to the cabin (or the proximity of the Summer House Canada cottage to the Heated Rivalry cottage) but we’re betting on at least two King West bartenders—perhaps one from Dundas West to really spice things up.
“Summer House has become a beloved global franchise known for its authentic friendships, big personalities and the unforgettable moments that come from spending a summer together,” says Erin Haskett, president and executive producer of Lark Productions. “We’re excited to build on that by bringing the Canadian summer experience to fans worldwide.”
The show will premiere on Hayu in 2027, following a trend of Canadian reality spin-offs like Canada Shore and The Real Housewives of Toronto. And while the Canadian versions of Ciara, Amanda and West will have big dramatic shoes to fill, the stunning shorelines of Muskoka are bound to stir up more than a few feelings—for better or worse.
