AI startup Discovery Loop is reportedly seeking a new funding round with a target valuation of approximately $50 billion. If the deal closes at that valuation, the company—less than a year old—would join the ranks of the world's most highly valued AI enterprises in an extraordinarily short period of time.
According to Business Insider, citing people familiar with the matter, the company has initiated a new round of financing negotiations, but deal terms could still change, and there is no certainty yet that it can complete the financing at a $50 billion valuation. Discovery Loop did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Just last month, the company had sought to raise $1 billion at a valuation of about $10 billion. Within a matter of weeks, the valuation target has jumped from $10 billion to $50 billion, reflecting the intensity of capital competition in the AI sector and the high level of investor enthusiasm for star-studded founding teams.
