Government unveils national strategy for artificial intelligence
Prime Minister Mark Carney introduced the country’s AI strategy which promises to prioritize adoption while committing to Canadian sovereignty, safety and reliability on Thursday. Minister of AI and Digital Innovation, Evan Solomon, says 'the best way to mitigate against job displacement is to have the most educated workforce' in response to concerns of job loss with Liberal's new AI strategy. Last week, The Bank of Canada said there were no signs so far that artificial intelligence was leading to widespread unemployment. 'That doesn't mean there won't be any job loss due to AI, we're very candid about that,' said Solomon.
