Granter wins Fintech and Insurtech award at South Summit Madrid
Portuguese startup Granter won the Fintech & Insurtech category at the South Summit Madrid, becoming the only Portuguese startup to receive an award at this year’s edition.
South Summit Madrid is a leading global innovation and startup conference that connects entrepreneurs, investors, and major corporations. Held annually at the La Nave innovation center in Madrid, the event is designed to foster high-value networking, qualified dealflow, and tangible business opportunities across various industries.
Among the 100 companies selected for the event, Granter competed with nine others in the category.
The company develops artificial intelligence agents with the goal of democratising access to European funds, making it possible for any organisation to identify funding opportunities, prepare applications, and manage projects, regardless of their size.
With Granter’s solution, what previously required weeks of work and the use of specialized consultants can now be done in a few hours. The company has more than 5,000 companies on its waiting list and has supported the submission of more than 200 applications for European funds, totaling over €20 million. Clients include organizations such as ANA Aeroportos, MC Sonae, Galp, the Portuguese Navy, and Fidelidade.
Bernardo Seixas, CEO and co-founder of Granter, said that “winning at the South Summit is a very important validation. It’s an event with enormous international recognition and, due to its proximity to Portugal, offers strategic visibility for the Iberian market. Spain is one of Granter’s priority markets, where we already have established commercial relationships, and this award opens new doors.”
This win at the South Summit follows a series of international distinctions that reinforce Granter’s projection beyond Portugal.
The company won the Web Summit PITCH in November 2025 and, more recently, the Pitch Battle at the Startup Portugal SIM Conference, and is among the 50 startups selected for the Startup World Cup Portugal.
