A sea of red and white will probably be visible from space as Greater Victoria celebrates Canada Day – featuring celebrations across the region that attract thousands of residents and visitors to commemorate the anniversary of the country’s confederation in 1867.

Along with the classic Inner Harbour and Legislature grounds festival that concludes with fireworks, the Gorge Canada Day Picnic, the Beacon Park party in Sidney, the Craigflower Manor celebration in View Royal, the Fred Milne Park event in Sooke, the Colwood festivities at Fort Rodd Hill and the Langford Station shindig will be filled with patriotism and a party atmosphere.

“Canada is the greatest nation on Earth. I am proud to celebrate our country alongside the tens of millions of people who call this beautiful, welcoming and ambitious land home,” noted a statement from B.C. Premier David Eby.

Throughout the day, Greater Victoria residents can partake in a pancake breakfast, head to the Show and Shine Car Show, take in the Busking Showcase at Ship Point and close the day off with fireworks across the region.
