Gyeonggi Agency Seeks Tech Startups for Gwanggyo R&D Hub

SUWON — The Gyeonggido Business and Science Accelerator (GBSA) is recruiting companies to move into Gwanggyo Techno Valley in Suwon, the largest cluster of advanced industries in southern Gyeonggi Province. The agency aims to attract small and venture businesses in high-tech fields with proven technology and growth potential, securing new engines for future industries while strengthening the cooperative ecosystem linking industry, academia and research institutes.

GBSA said on the 28th that it is seeking technology companies to occupy space in its Gwanggyo headquarters and the Gyeonggi Bio Center, both located in Gwanggyo Techno Valley. The recruitment is designed to help companies commercialize their technology quickly, drawing on the site's advanced R&D infrastructure and its network of universities and research institutes.

Gwanggyo Techno Valley is one of Gyeonggi Province's flagship innovation hubs, home to about 200 companies and key research institutes in information technology, biotechnology and nanotechnology. Institutions clustered there include the Korea Advanced Nanotechnology Center (KANC), the Gyeonggi Bio Center and the Advanced Institute of Convergence Technology, along with major business support organizations such as the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation.

The site also offers close access to leading local universities, including Kyonggi University, Ajou University and Sungkyunkwan University, giving companies what the agency describes as an ideal environment for recruiting skilled talent and conducting joint research and development with academic partners.

The recruitment is being conducted separately for the two locations. The Gwanggyo headquarters offers offices and testing and laboratory space for general technology ventures and small businesses, while the Gyeonggi Bio Center provides high-performance research facilities and dedicated space tailored to companies in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, medical devices and bio-AI.

Available units range from 221 square meters to 1,524 square meters, configured to suit varying corporate needs. Selection will be carried out through electronic bidding on Onbid, the online asset disposal system run by the Korea Asset Management Corporation. After bids are submitted and deposits paid, the highest bidder will undergo a review of eligibility before final tenants are chosen.

"Gwanggyo Techno Valley is the heart of Gyeonggi Province's advanced industries, where research institutes, universities and support organizations are organically connected," said Lee So-yeon, head of GBSA's Techno Valley Innovation Division. "We will spare no effort in providing support from multiple angles so that promising companies can grow into globally competitive players in a stable environment."
