Gyeonggi-do Agency Launches 'G
The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is launching the "G-Bio Growth Lab (Gyeonggi Bio Startup Technology Verification and Commercialization Support)" to foster the growth of local bio startups and support their efforts to attract investment.
This initiative goes beyond simple financial support, offering a program that helps startups advance their technologies and commercialize them through partnerships with large and mid-sized companies.
The program focuses on building a privately-led open innovation system to discover opportunities for technological collaboration, while also supporting bio startups in entering the market and attracting investment to drive their growth.
The recruitment targets bio startups based in Gyeonggi Province. The agency will comprehensively evaluate technology readiness level (TRL), technological capability, marketability, and business competence, and select a total of 15 companies.
The selected companies will receive a full-cycle program, including tailored diagnostics and mentoring by growth stage, technology verification, and investment attraction support.

The main areas of support include: corporate diagnosis and growth strategy development; identification and matching of open innovation needs; PoC (Proof of Concept – technology verification) design and implementation; connecting with investment attraction (IR) and VC networks; and outcome generation with follow-up support.
In particular, the PoC process enables startups to validate their technologies or products in real business environments. By collaborating with large and mid-sized companies, participating startups can assess the practical effectiveness and commercialization potential of their technologies.
In addition, the program plans to expand opportunities for subsequent investment attraction by holding special lectures with global investment firms and organizing meetup days with domestic and international bio investors for participating companies.
Choi Haejong, Head of the Bio Industry Division at the agency, stated, "The bio industry is a field where technological innovation and private sector collaboration are more important than anything else. Our agency will continue to create an environment where promising startups can gain growth opportunities based solely on their technological capabilities, regardless of company size, and we will expand support to help Gyeonggi Province become a hub of bio innovation."
Applications can be submitted through the Gyeonggi Enterprise Secretary website until June 22. The selected companies will participate in the program until October.
