Hanjin Selected for Successive Government Support Programs for Small Businesses... Offers a "Growth Ladder" for Small Businesses

Hanjin Participates in a Series of Government Support Programs Run by the Korea SMEs and Startups Distribution Center, KOSME, and SEMAS

Hanjin is helping advance the government’s support policies for small businesses by providing logistics support to small and medium-sized businesses.

Hanjin said on October 11 that it is participating in three programs in succession: the Online Export Logistics Support Program for SMEs, run by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) and launched in May; the Logistics Service Support Program for Small Businesses, run by the Korea SMEs and Startups Distribution Center and launched in June; and the Overseas Online Platform Logistics Support Program, run by the Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS) and launched in August.

Through these programs, Hanjin is providing more than just delivery services to small and medium-sized businesses facing mounting operational burdens amid a recent domestic economic slowdown and prolonged high prices and interest rates. It is helping them achieve practical self-reliance by offering smart logistics consulting and cost-saving benefits.

The Logistics Service Support Program for Small Businesses, overseen by the Korea SMEs and Startups Distribution Center, has drawn a positive response from small business owners by actively incorporating feedback from the field. Hanjin found that most small businesses participating in the program handled small-volume shipments or goods that could not be stored, such as seafood, making it difficult for them to use existing fulfillment services. In response, starting with the program’s third recruitment round, Hanjin created and is operating a dedicated door-to-door parcel delivery service, leveraging its nationwide pickup network and customized platform, One-Click PRO.

The introduction of One-Click PRO, which features real-time quotes and a contract approval process, has significantly made it easier for small businesses to apply. Selected businesses can receive support covering up to 90% of their logistics costs. As a result, of the 579 companies that applied across the Korea SMEs and Startups Distribution Center’s first three recruitment rounds, 87 have been selected to date—23 for fulfillment services and 64 for door-to-door parcel delivery—and are proceeding with contract procedures.

Hanjin is also stepping up support for small and medium-sized businesses seeking to expand globally. It was selected as the first operator of the Overseas Online Platform Logistics Support Program, launched this year by SEMAS, and is responsible for handling export logistics for K-brands.

Hanjin is also providing hands-on support to help small and medium-sized businesses develop overseas sales channels by linking its state-of-the-art Incheon International Airport GDC (Global Distribution Center), global network, and specialized cross-border e-commerce fulfillment system. Since 2022, Hanjin has operated the Online Export Logistics Support Program for SMEs, overseen by KOSME, for five consecutive years through this year, demonstrating its unrivaled competitiveness and expertise in global cross-border e-commerce fulfillment and international express delivery.

A Hanjin representative said, "Guided by our founding philosophy of 'serving the nation through transportation,' Hanjin is providing support in a variety of ways so that small and medium-sized businesses—the roots of the national economy—can ease their logistics burden and focus on their core business. We will continue to actively leverage our nationwide infrastructure and our distinctive logistics solutions, including the Incheon International Airport GDC and One-Click, to support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses and firmly establish a sustainable, mutually beneficial logistics ecosystem."
