Head-on crash in Laurentians leaves 3 dead, 1 injured
Man, woman and child dead, provincial police investigating
Two adults and a child are dead following a head-on collision Friday afternoon in the Laurentians, in the municipality of Lantier, just over 40 kilometres northeast of Mont Tremblant.
Quebec provincial police say the collision took place just after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Rolland-Cloutier Boulevard and Lac Dufresne Road.
A vehicle heading north attempted to pass on the left to avoid a vehicle turning right in front of it, said Geneviève Bruneau, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). The northbound vehicle then struck a southbound vehicle.
According to the SQ, a man and woman in their thirties, and a child under the age of 10 were in the vehicle that was struck. They were transported with serious injuries to the hospital, where they later died.
The driver of the northbound vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Police say an investigation is ongoing.
