Inside Cameco's Cigar Lake mine in Saskatchewan
The Cigar Lake mine in northern Saskatchewan produces around 8 million kilograms of uranium a year, enough to power the province's power grid for 22 years. Kirk Lamont, the mine's general manager, says the company uses a special machine to extract the radioactive material. (July 05, 2026)
