Investigation underway after small plane crashes near Rosetown, Sask.

RCMP and Transportation Safety Board of Canada investigating, few details released

A small plane crashed Tuesday morning in the RM of Marriott, near Rosetown, Sask.

Rosetown RCMP received a report of a small plane crash around 10:30 a.m. CST, according to a statement. Rosetown is about 110 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon.

Officers responded right away and alerted the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB).

The TSB is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation incidents. It said in a release that a team of investigators will arrive at the site Wednesday.

The condition of the pilot and details on any potential passengers were not released.

RCMP say they will provide updates when they are able.
