iQOO Neo 12 design and display specs teased ahead of launch: All you need to know

Ahead of its official launch, iQOO has revealed key display and design details of the upcoming Neo 12 smartphone.

Smartphone brand iQOO is getting ready to launch its highly anticipated Neo 12 series later this month, alongside the new iQOO Pad Pro Mini tablet. Ahead of the official launch in China, the company has started dropping some big hints, officially confirming the display and design details of the upcoming device.

If you are looking for a powerhouse smartphone, here is everything you need to know about what the iQOO Neo 12 will offer.

Based on the latest teasers shared by iQOO on Weibo, the iQOO Neo 12 will spot a flat 2K OLED display surrounded by very slim and uniform bezels. The front panel features a centrally aligned hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.

iQOO has confirmed that the screen panel is being supplied by Chinese display manufacturer Visionox. This new panel will use p-TSF (PTSF) technology-based luminescent materials, which the company claims will help reduce power consumption while improving overall color reproduction.

For gamers and power users, the standout feature is the incredibly smooth 185Hz refresh rate. This upgrade means that animations, scrolling, and intense gaming sessions will feel noticeably faster and more responsive compared to most other premium phones currently on the market. iQOO is set to share even more details about this screen tech at a special Display Technology Briefing on October 14 at Tsinghua Science Park.

Beyond the impressive screen, iQOO has also confirmed some serious hardware upgrades. Under the hood, the Neo 12 will be powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, ensuring top-tier performance. The phone will also feature iQOO's custom Q3 gaming chip to further boost gaming capabilities.

To keep the device cool during those heavy gaming sessions, the Neo 12 will come equipped with a built-in active cooling fan paired with an "Ice Dome" active cooling system.

Rumors also suggest the phone will pack a massive 9,000mAh battery with support for fast 100W wired charging. It is expected to come with up to 16GB of RAM and will likely run on the latest Android 17 operating system right out of the box.

The iQOO Neo 12 is expected to launch in China later this October, with pre-orders already open. While the official price and exact launch date haven't been announced yet, global launch details remain under wraps. There are reports suggesting the phone could eventually make its international debut under the name iQOO 16R.

The new Neo 12 is expected to be a solid upgrade over last year's iQOO Neo 11. For context, the Neo 11 launched with a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED screen, a 144Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging.
