Kia Kokalitcheva Leaves PitchBook After Venture Capital Editor Role
Kia Kokalitcheva has left PitchBook, where she served as a senior editor covering venture capital, ending a tenure that began in January 2025.
Her departure was reported by Talking Biz News. Her next position has not been announced.
Kokalitcheva brought extensive experience covering venture capital, technology and dealmaking to PitchBook, a financial data and research company closely followed by investors, private market professionals and companies tracking venture capital and private equity activity.
Before joining PitchBook, Kokalitcheva worked at Axios, where her reporting focused on venture capital and technology deals. Her coverage included the investors, startups, transactions and financing trends shaping the technology sector and private markets.
She previously worked for Fortune, adding experience at a major national business publication to her reporting background.
Earlier in her career, Kokalitcheva reported for VentureBeat, where she covered the technology industry and startup ecosystem.
Her career has therefore spanned several prominent business and technology news organizations, with much of her reporting centered on the intersection of startups, venture investing and technology transactions.
At PitchBook, Kokalitcheva moved into a senior editorial role at a company whose research and journalism serve an audience focused heavily on private capital markets. The position built on her previous experience reporting on venture funding and technology deals while adding responsibility within a publication backed by PitchBook’s extensive private-market data platform.
Her departure comes after roughly a year and nine months with the organization.
No details about Kokalitcheva’s next professional move were disclosed in the report.
