Kim Minha to host Busan Film Festival opening ceremony
Busan International Film Festival has announced "Pachinko" star Kim Minha, a rising South Korean star, as the host of this year's opening ceremony.
Minha made her debut in 2016 and has built a distinctive body of work across films and television over the years. She gained international fame with her portrayal of young Sunja in the globally acclaimed Apple TV series "Pachinko", a popular novel by author Min Jin Lee.
After earning applaud for her portrayal of young Sunja, Minha has also starred in popular K-dramas such as "Light Shop", "Way Back Love" and "Typhoon Family".
BIFF selected Kim Minha in recognition of the depth and emotional precision she brings to every role, as well as her growing presence as a new-generation star. Known for her poised yet spirited presence, she is expected to bring warmth and confidence to the opening ceremony and set the tone for this year’s festival, the festival said in a release.

The 31st Busan International Film Festival is set to take place from October 6 to October 15 at Busan Cinema Center and throughout Busan.
