Kitchener ceremonial fire space dedicated to Indigenous communities
A new ceremonial fire space in Kitchener's Victoria Park will be lit for the first time this Sunday to mark National Indigenous Peoples Day. The space is a dedicated site for local Indigenous groups to gather for sacred fires, ceremonies and traditional wellness practices. Willow River Centre will host a special celebration there on Sunday. Co-founder Bangishimo shares the significance of the space.
