Korea Masters: Chaliha Earns Title Shot
World No.50 Ashmita Chaliha made her first HSBC BWF World Tour final at the VICTOR Korea Masters 2026 today beating compatriot Rakshita Sree Santhosh Ramraj.
Chaliha, whose previous best this year was the semifinals of the Macau Open in June, prevailed in a hard battle with Santhosh Ramraj, 21-13 16-21 21-13.
Chaliha has had an impressive road to the final. She first beat qualifier Ririna Hiramoto, then Kim Min Ji, both in straight games, before edging top seed Hina Akechi 20-22 21-15 21-19 in the quarterfinals.
In the final, Chaliha takes on fourth seed Han Qian Qi, who beat Korean qualifier Kim Ga Ram, 22-20 18-21 21-14.
In men’s singles, home hope Yoo Tae Bin made his second final in two weeks beating top seed Yudai Okimoto 21-16 21-18. Okimoto had beaten Yoo in last Sunday’s final of the YONEX Taipei Open 2026.
In the final Yoo takes on No.68 Zhu Xuan Chen, who will be playing his first World Tour final.

» The men’s doubles final will be an all-Malaysian affair between Man Wei Chong/Soh Wooi Yik and Tee Kai Wun/Yap Roy King.
» Aimsaard sisters Benyapa and Nuntakarn made their first final this year beating qualifiers Lee Seung Hee/Park Min Ji.
