Loewe Strengthens Its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Capabilities with Talent from Puig. On September 17th, the Spanish luxury company will appoint Mariola Lobato as global head of data and AI. She joins from Puig, where she has held the same position since 2024. Lobato takes over from Andrés Varela, who has held the position for the past two years.

She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UCM Madrid, Lobato began her career in 1993 as director of telecommunications and banking services at Arthur Andersen before moving on to Kearney and Santander, where she served as head of data and digital from 2004 to 2018. She later worked at Gartner and BCG before joining Puig.

Varela, on the other hand, has worked at Telefónica and the Dia supermarket chain, also as head of data and AI, until she joined Loewe in 2024. Now, Varela is switching sectors again and will join Cigna, a health insurance company.
