Macau Open: Breakthrough Win for Hu Zhe An
China’s rising star Hu Zhe An won his first HSBC BWF World Tour title beating Kantaphon Wangcharoen in the final of the SANDS CHINA LTD. Macau Open 2026.
The 2024 World Junior champion, who was in two World Tour semifinals this year, achieved his breakthrough beating the Thai with a comeback win, 11-21 21-10 21-13, preventing Wangcharoen from winning his first title in over nine years.
It was Hu’s best performance since his Super 100 win at the Baoji China Masters 2024.
In women’s singles, Kim Ga Eun claimed her first title of the season with a comfortable result over her compatriot Park Ga Eun. The world No.18 held off the world No.61 in 39 minutes, 21-16 21-13.
China finished with three titles. World No.2 Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin, reunited after three months, achieved success in their first tournament back together. The top seeds stormed past No.5 seeds Chan Yin Chak/Ng Tsz Yau of Hong Kong China, 21-14 21-14.
