Meta rolls out AI game-making app Pocket to users across the US

Meta is rolling out Pocket, an experimental app that allows people to create small interactive games and experiences using artificial intelligence prompts, to users across the United States.

The app previously appeared as a limited test in Brazil. Users can describe what they want to create and generate interactive experiences that Meta calls “gizmos”, which can then be published into a vertically scrolling social feed.

Pocket creations can react to tapping, dragging and phone movement and may incorporate sound, music, photos or camera input. Other users can interact with the games, save them, repost them or remix existing creations into something new.

The app grew out of Meta's recruitment of the team behind Gizmo, an earlier platform created by Atma Sciences. The original Gizmo service is now being closed as the team shifts its work to Pocket.

Pocket is part of a broader push by Meta to make AI-generated content and rapid app creation mainstream. The company has also experimented with AI-generated images, videos and other standalone social applications.

The launch reflects growing interest in so-called “vibe coding”, in which users build software or interactive experiences largely by describing the desired result to an AI system rather than writing conventional code themselves.
