Military Technological College Holds its 7th Science Week

Muscat, 4 October 2026 (ONA) --- The Military Technological College today inaugurated its 7th Science Week under the auspices of Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology.

The 5-day event, which is being held under the theme “Innovate, Secure and Develop”, sees the participation of military institutions from the Sultanate of Oman, GCC states and other Arab countries.

The opening ceremony included a speech by Brigadier Ahmed bin Khalfan Al Hadidi, Dean of the Military Technological College, who underlined the event's importance in fostering cooperation between military and academic institutions, discovering talents and converting ideas and research outputs into practical applications that enhance the technical capabilities in serving the nation.

The ceremony also included an orientation visual display about the 7th Science Week. The display highlighted key themes and objectives of the 7th Science Week, including two lectures, the first of which was titled "Cybersecurity challenges amid the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, while the second dealt with the importance of a national system for developing cybersecurity competencies.

On the sidelines of the forum, a cooperation agreement was signed with ESBAAR Artificial Intelligence and Drones company to strengthen ties in academic cooperation, scholarly research, student training and joint research projects.

The ceremony also saw the opening of an exhibition featuring scientific projects, innovations and modern technologies developed by students from various academic institutions and scientific clubs affiliated with military and security units.

The Science Week aims to foster collaboration in innovation and knowledge exchange among participants, encourage students to present their ideas and research projects, promote interest in science and technology and support the national drive toward digital transition.
