Millenium Prize solution shows AI adding up is no joke
There’s an old joke among artificial intelligence sceptics that half of all large language models will end up being used to summarise emails into three bullet points. And the other half will be turning three bullet points into emails.
This cynicism makes sense when you consider how recently it was that the latest frontier models were still comically bad at simple tasks – like basic arithmetic.
