Minister Champagne reminds U.S. that ‘Canada is your 1st customer’
Asked about an update on the opening of the Gordie Howe Bridge connecting Detroit, Mich. and Windsor, Ont. on Tuesday, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne sent a message to the U.S., saying, "Let's remember that Canada is your first customer. We buy more from the Uniteds States than China, Japan and the U.K. combined. While he did not give a date on when the highly anticipated border bridge would be reopened, he made clear to reporters that the federal government is "working with our American partners" on the matter.
