Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to achieve a significant milestone in Indian political history by surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru's record to become the longest-serving consecutively elected Prime Minister, with 4,399 days in office on June 10. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted the 'transformative' impact of PM Modi's 12-year tenure on the nation's trajectory.
Scindia pointed out the economic progress India has witnessed under Modi's leadership, with an average domestic production rate of 7% over the past 12 years. This growth is seen as a factor in India's enhanced prominence on the global stage and is credited with an unprecedented transformational impact on the country's future direction.
Highlighting key achievements, Scindia cited India's role on the world stage, including the G20 presidency and International Yoga Day, along with infrastructure development such as increasing national highway lengths and expanding the civil aviation and railway sectors.
