Australian T20 League opener to be played in Chennai:PM Modi announces at MCG; 1st foreign cricket league match to be held in India
On the third and final day of his Australia visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). He was accompanied by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and former Australia captain Steve Waugh.
At the MCG, PM Modi announced that the opening match of Australia's Big Bash League (BBL) T20 tournament will be played in Chennai this December. It will be the first time a foreign cricket league hosts a match in India.

PM Modi to visit New Zealand after Australia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in New Zealand today for the final leg of his six-day foreign tour. His visit will begin with bilateral talks with the New Zealand government, during which the two countries are expected to finalise the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The Prime Minister will also attend a business event and a sporting event during his visit.
Later, he will address around 40,000 members of the Indian diaspora in Auckland. The Indian community has organised a 'Kia Ora Modi' event to welcome him.
This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to New Zealand in 40 years. The last such visit was by then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1986.
Australia seals uranium deal with India
Earlier on Thursday, India and Australia sealed a uranium deal. Following talks in Melbourne, PM Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced agreements across defence, trade, energy, space, and critical minerals during a joint press conference.
PM Modi said India and Australia will jointly develop a Critical Minerals Corridor. A space tracking terminal will also be established on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands to support India's Gaganyaan mission.
Modi also praised Australia's decision to ban social media access for children under the age of 16. Later, he addressed a gathering of around 30,000 members of the Indian community in Melbourne.
