Montreal Afro-Canadian Cultural Centre breaks ground on future home of Canada’s largest Black cultural centre
The Montreal Afro-Canadian Cultural Centre (CCAM) has officially launched redevelopment work on its future home. It is transforming the former École des beaux-arts de Montréal. The project is based on the reuse of the existing building and the addition of two complementary extensions. The main building will house a range of cultural and administrative spaces, including a museum, an exhibition space, reading areas, community spaces, a recording studio and a bookstore. A 200-seat auditorium will also be created.
